  2. Book early – rooms are available 325 days in advance
  3. Stay midweek – more £29 rooms are available Sunday to Thursday
  4. Sign up to the Travelodge newsletter to hear about new offers

Almost half of Brits have also turned down an invite to a big day due to the cost.

Shakila Ahmed, from Travelodge, said:“Nowadays weddings are not just expensive and stressful for the bridal couple but they have become a budget-buster for guests too.

“With the average cost of attending a wedding being £717, which is the cost of a holiday, it’s not surprising, that so many Britons are declining attending their family and friends big day.

“To help ensure brides and grooms are surrounded by their loved ones on their big day, we have launched the one stop wedding service that eliminates the stress and reduces the accommodation cost for wedding guests.”
